The Plan de l'Aar hike is a magnificent family hike with the refuge de l'Aar at an altitude of 1731 metres as its goal.
Starting from the hamlet of La Tonnaz, there are no major difficulties on the way up to the refuge. This hike is ideal for a family weekend and a first experience in a refuge with children.
At the refuge, you'll be welcomed by the mountain pastoralists, who'll prepare a meal and picnic for you to take away, with delicious mountain produce to match!
Your children will also be able to discover the farm animals on site, and understand the importance of the presence of the herds in our Alpine pastures and the upkeep of the mountain that they carry out. Check the weather forecast before setting off.
Pack your rucksack with cereal bars, plenty of water, sunglasses, sun cream, a small first-aid kit and the right clothes for your outing, depending on the season and the weather forecast. Always ask mountain professionals for advice.
