From Tourist Information, start by going down to the Menoge River then up to the top of Targaillan to the Balcon du Léman GR hiking trail for great views of the lake. There are chamois on the next part of the trail towards l'Aiguille before you go back down to Les Moises peatland. 400m uphill to the peak of Mont Forchat (1539 m). Panoramic views from Mont Blanc to Lac Léman. A short walk down to the forest to the Col des Arces then to La Turche, a small wild range popular with deer. Next, you’ll come to Col de Terramont, the start of the last climb up to the Hirmentaz ridges, the high point of this 1607m hike. Go back down via Col du Creux, the Alpine hamlet of La Glappaz where you’ll reach the heart of the village to the sound of cowbells.
Flora: rhododendron, edelweiss, black vanilla orchid and white snowcrop.
Fauna: marmots, deer and chamois.
Incredible views of Mont Blanc, Lac Léman, the Swiss Alps and Jura mountain range. Philippe is the man to show you round.

If you're a cross-country runner, you could run this route. It will take approximately 3 hours. Same price as the hike. (Athletics licence or medical certificate required).
