Nature and Heritage: Mont Forchat comes to life every summer with pilgrimages to the statue of Saint François de Sales, erected in 1898 by the people of Lullin in memory of their ancestors’ abjuration in the 16th century. The hike is a great opportunity to explore the mountain pastures, blueberries and forest of spruces, evidence of acidic soil. Mont Forchat is an enormous water tower housing sizeable drinking water resources. Don’t waste water from the fountains and troughs; it’s too precious!
Route details: set off from Très le Mont car park along the dirt road then take the path on the left that slopes up to the spruce and beech forest. Continue to the top of this red and white-marked road. You’ll come out onto a clearing after 15 minutes and 10 minutes later you’ll reach Mont Forchat for 360° views from Lake Geneva to Mont Blanc. You can go back down the same route. You can also take a steeper and rockier path (more difficult). Turn right at Col de l'Incarne. You will then reach Très le Mont mountain pastures and the car park within 30 minutes.
