Starting from the small village of Beaumont, the Grand Piton hike will allow you to reach the highest point of the Salève mountain at 1380 meters altitude.
With a little difference in altitude, but without particular difficulties, this hike will satisfy you with its magnificent views. The plain of Geneva and Lake Geneva are offered to you once the summit is reached.
You will also find the Bastian Tower erected between 1820 and 1830 by Claude-François Bastian, a wealthy notary and mayor of Frangy who replaced the former post of Guet.
Also discover the magnificent lapiaz plateau, one of the most beautiful in the Salève (lapiaz is a geological formation due to the runoff of water between limestone rocks).
