You'll learn why the chalets were built the way they were, and immerse yourself in mountain peasant life, with all the little tricks of the trade of the time to make daily life easier for the inhabitants, to survive in this sometimes hostile environment. We'll tell you about the "old days", but also about our present-day life here in Le Grand-Bornand, with its farms, its mountains, its activities, its champions, its traditional festivals...

Le Grand-Bornand is a mountain village where traditions live on.
As soon as you arrive in one of Grand-Bornand's typical alpine hamlets (at Le Chinaillon), you'll notice the many chalets, some of which are almost 400 years old!

Reception
The meeting point is at Chinaillon, at the Venay bridge (very close to the Le Maroly bus stop). Bring a rucksack with windbreaker, water and cereal bar, non-slip walking shoes (no sandals) and walking sticks if you have them.
