From the Via Ferrata car park, follow the road to the Chalets de Curalla. A steeper path then leads to the refuge in a few dozen minutes. From Varan, a technical path goes straight up towards Barmerousse. Follow the red dots on the ground to cross the magnificent limestone desert until you reach the refuge of Platé. Head south to descend the wall formed by the Fiz cliffs to Charbonnière. The path then becomes wider until you reach the Jardin des Cimes from where you can return to the starting point via the Balcons d'Assy (signs for Le Coudray).
