Lac d'Arvouin is easily accessible on foot from the heights of La Chapelle d'Abondance. In summer, the Panthiaz gondola lift also allows you to reach the starting point without taking the car (open on certain days of the week, check with the tourist office).
From the top of the gondola, you'll enter the forest and then the mountain pastures, reaching the chalets a little higher up. Maybe you'll meet some Abondance cows!
Enjoy the panoramic view of Mont de Grange and the Dents du Midi.
The path then leads into the undergrowth, and the area opens up to offer splendid views. You'll then follow this path to Lac d'Arvouin, where you may spot goats below or ibex at the lake.
Situated in the heart of the protected Cornettes de Bise massif, Lac d'Arvouin and its surroundings are classified as a Natura 2000 area.
You'll then head for the mountain chalets and the Col d'Arvouin. A magnificent view of the lake and the south face of the Cornettes de Bise.
Return by the same route.
