About

Bonneville (74130)

The church is typical of the neo-classical style of the Restoration period, except for the facade, which was inspired by Greek temples, and its hall design (three naves of the same height under the same roof).
Inside:
• neo-classical altarpiece, decorated with scenes depicting the life of Saint Catherine of Alexandria, the patron saint of the parish.
• the Joseph Merklin organ dating from the 1870s, with stops that were restored in 2010.
•18th century baroque baptismal font.
• Stations of the Cross created by a local modern artist, Claude Gantin from Ayze, during the restoration of the church.
The little pagoda-shaped building between the château and the church was built as a temporary bell tower, pending the building of the definitive bell tower a century later in 1932, at the initiative of parish priest Cadoux.
