Many years ago, there were still some families that had to walk more than 1 km to reach Planay village to go to school, to the church... or to do some shopping.
Nowadays la Novaz is an authentic hamlet well maintained.
Its chapel Notre Dame des Neiges dedicated to Sainte Trinité has been built in 1633.

La Novaz is a lovely small hamlet of Planay nestled at the bottom of the Villeneuve peak. You can see the village and its chapel at the right side of the road that goes to Pralognan la Vanoise.
