Inside, a painting of the former altarpiece, dated 1695, by Gabriel Dufour, a renowned painter who worked in many of the valley's Baroque churches.
The work is based on a painting by Annibale Carracci (1560-1609) in the Louvre, depicting Christ on his mother's lap, with two angels showing his wounds.
