Fort de la Batterie

Restored in 1998, the Fort de la Batterie is located at an altitude of 1440 m, in a place called "l'Alpettaz".
Facing Mont-Blanc, it overlooks a cliff and dominates the Ugine valley.
The view from up there is breathtaking.

Ideally situated on the shoulder of the Dent de Cons, the Fort de la Batterie is the perfect setting for contemplative hikers and sports enthusiasts alike. Approx. 40 min walk from the parking lot.

On the program: stroll, hike, snowshoe, climb, highline, trail, mountain run, wildlife observation, chamois and sabot de vénus, stag bellow, spectacular panoramic view, sea of clouds, sunset over the Mont Blanc massif, yoga and contemplation.

    Fort de la Batterie 73400 Marthod

    By road from the Marthod exit on the D1212. Drive up to the village, crossing it in the direction of the hamlets of Duines, Bulles and Le Villard for 6 km. The first parking lot (winter) is 1 km upstream.

    A clear road in summer takes you 3 km to the summer parking lot at 1200 m altitude at "Le Lancheron" or "les Rafforts". You can walk or snowshoe up to the Col de l'Alpettaz, which takes 40 minutes for an average walker, then 10 minutes along the ridge on the forest track.
