About

Jarsy (73630)

13m high and sitting atop a sloping ledge, this church can be seen from the Col du Frêne. Its Basilica-esque layout, erected by the Revel diocesan, is unique in the Massif des Bauges. On the eastern side, two Medieval capitals come from the former church, now destroyed. Inside, the main alter, made of white marble with columns of red and green marble, rests upon a black marble base. The Autel de la Vierge, also made of white marble, is decorated with a high relief of the Holy Family.
