Dedicated to Our Lady of the Alps, the church was built between 1935 and 1938 by Maurice Novarina. As a major participant in the revival of sacred art
in the 20th century, the architect imagined a modern church that used the traditional elements found in regional chalets.
The decoration is a result of collaboration between three Swiss artists and a French artist. François Baud created the sculpture of the Virgin Mary on
the façade. Alexandre Cingria and Jean Hébert-Stevens decorated the stained glass.
