Church and belfry of Vers

Ignace Monnet, the architect of the diocese, was commissioned by the commune to produce the plans for the new church. If the bell tower dating from the Sardinian period was in the Neo-Classical style, the new building is in the "French style", that is to say Neo-Gothic.

The new church, built in the shape of a Latin cross, is situated on a north-south axis while the previous one was built in the same place on an east-west axis. It rests on granite foundations and was completed in 1870. In 1887 Monseigneur Isoard, bishop of Annecy, dedicated the church to "Notre-Dame de la Nativité".
