All the inhabitants participated financially, but the patronage, meaning the responsibility to provide the money for its protection and upkeep, was provided by the Roch-Gindre family. Its patron saints are Saint Felix and Saint Roch, the latter protecting against the plague.
The chapel was built parallel to the slope, much like several houses in the valley

Today, the decoration is very modest, but the large altarpiece depicts the Crucifixion of Jesus, surrounded by two male figures. On the left is Saint Roch, recognisable by his walking stick, the dog beside him and the fact that he is showing a wound on his leg (a reminder of the plague). The saint on the right, in armour, has not been identified.
