Amélie Reynaud: “Alpine skiing is everything to me!”

Amélie Reynaud is a Savoyard through and through. She grew up near Aix-les-Bains, not far from her favourite ski resort, Les Karellis, where it seemed a foregone conclusion that she would become an instructor. She is passionate about her region and about passing on her knowledge.

As far back as I remember, I would come to this family-friendly resort and follow in my brother’s tracks down the slopes. Les Karellis is just above the village where my grandparents live, who are strongly rooted in the area.

Amélie began skiing very young, in Maurienne valley, following in the footsteps of her brother, Valentin.

Les Karellis is her favourite resort, all the more so as her grandfather is a pillar of the local community, and her brother also works there as a ski instructor!

With the energy of youth, these passionate twenty-somethings take their jobs very seriously: "Alpine skiing is everything to me!"

I was fortunate to grow up here and it’s important to share that.

Her ambition

TO SHARE HER PASSION

Ever since she was a little girl, she dreamed of becoming a ski instructor and donning the red outfit! What she really loves is teaching.

"I feel really fortunate to be able to pass on my love of skiing to teenagers, who are not much younger than me. I like the idea of being able to offer them a truly enjoyable break through skiing, exploring the surroundings, and also by building a bond and having fun.

That’s what gives me a buzz when I suggest a day’s skiing off the beaten track, followed by pizza or a trip to the cinema!"
