Ideal route for beginners, alternating groomed with “off-piste” portions and with the added bonus of magnificent views of Mont Blanc and the surrounding mountains. The second part of the route is shared with the one from Plagne Centre.

Sport Ski touring route: Plagne Bellecôte - Col de Forcle La Plagne

About

Departing from La Plagne (73210)
Total elevation gain : 350m
Distance : 5km
Signed walking trail

From Plagne Bellecôte, join the path above the Roche de Mio cable car station (towards the ice rink). It winds gently down to the Dou du Praz plateau (beware of the portion also used by pedestrians).

At Dou du Praz, enjoy the magnificent view of Mont Blanc (orientation table, picnic tables). Continue on the path that passes near the restaurant, watch out for track crossings (at this level, it's possible to take the piste down to Plagne Centre).
Continue the climb following the route to the bottom of the Col de Forcle valley. From there, cross the alpine ski slope and climb into the valley. This very last part is not groomed and allows you to familiarize yourself with the "off-piste" progress.

Be careful not to leave the marked route. Descent to Plagne Bellecote by the blue "Ours" trail is recommended. Please note that this is a shared route, and respect other users!
