When you leave Montchavin, first take the gondola "Les Coches", then the "Lac Noir" gondola.
When leaving Les Coches, either take the Telebfette or the shuttle-bus, then the "Lac Noir" gondola
On arrival at the Plan Bois plateau, follow the pedestrian signpost across the piste, but watch out for oncoming skiers ; the footpath takes you through the forest, and after 10 minutes, you'll come to the open plateau. You can walk around here happily gazing at the Mont Blanc chain of mountains.
It takes 20 minutes or so to walk back up to the gondola, in order to return back down to resort.

Winter Walks : Le Plateau de Plan Bois
An easy walk, either from Montchavin or Les Coches, with access via the telecabin. The view of Mont Blanc is fantastic. The forest is beautiful, and walking in winter is wonderful. The Plan Bois plateau is in the sunshine.

Reception
Depending on snow conditions, you'll need the right equipment, such as snowshoes with poles or good hiking boots/crampons with poles, for greater stability and safety.

Access
From Montchavin, take the Coches gondola into the village, then the Lac Noir gondola 20m to your right, to reach the Plateau de Plan Bois.
From Les Coches, take the Telebbufette if you're in the center and then the Lac Noir gondola immediately on your right as you leave.
