Take the Montchavin chairlift to Le Sauget. From there, after a short climb, go left (by a wooden signpost) to follow a forest road that goes down to La Fontaine Froide. Then take the right-hand trail through the spruce forest to les Chalets des Bauches which mark the beginning of the valley.
Return by the same route
Warning – Fontaine Froide: take the first path on your right, 50 metres before the safety nets.

Prices
Free access. Buy a single Montchavin chairlift ticket for 8€ or a weekly pedestrian pass for 60€ (free for children under 5) at the lift ticket office.
Reception
Depending on snow conditions, you'll need the right equipment, such as snowshoes with poles or good hiking boots/crampons with poles, for greater stability and safety.
Pets are not allowed on the chairlift in winter.

In Montchavin, all our above-ground parking lots are free.
You can park at the Police municipale or at any of the parking lots and go to the Montchavin snow front to take the chairlift.
If you don't have a ticket, please go to the ticket office or lift ticket office in the village center, opposite the bakery, a 3-minute walk away.
