ESF instructors' program, all season long:
Sundays 2pm-4pm: free introductory snowshoe outing. Accessible to all. Departure from Maison d'Aussois. Registration at the Maison d'Aussois before 12 noon on Sunday.
Mornings
Monday 9am-11am: Discover the Aussois plateau with its Sardinian Fort "Marie-Christine" via the St Benoit gorge. Beautiful new landscapes.
Departure and return to the ESF - difficulty: green - vertical drop: 200 m positive.
Tuesday 9am-11am: Prédemal
A magnificent climb through the forest via the little bridge will take us straight to Gégé's refuge. The return journey offers incredible views of the village of Aussois. Departure and return to the ESF - difficulty: green - vertical drop: 250 m positive.
Wednesday 9am-11am: The Lozes plateau
A descent into the lower part of the Gorge Saint Pierre, then we'll set off to discover the Parc Archéologique des Lozes: perhaps we'll spot some engravings under the snow. Departure and return to the ESF - difficulty: blue - vertical drop: 330 m positive.
Thursday 9am-11am: Sentier des Daims
The ascent along the Daims trail offers magnificent views of the village of Aussois. We'll descend into a wild gorge just a few hundred metres from the village. Departure and return to the ESF - difficulty: blue - ascent: 380 m positive.
Friday 9am-11am: Chantovent
Passing by the ruisseau St Benoit gorge, we'll head off in the direction of Chantovent, where the open countryside offers incredible views of the mountains opposite the village and Aussois. Departure and return to the ESF - difficulty: red - vertical drop: 420 m positive.
Afternoon
Monday 1.30pm-4.30pm: Sculptures
As we wind our way up the path, we'll have the chance to discover Serge Couvert's wood sculptures. The descent offers a magnificent panorama of the village of Aussois. Meeting point Plan de La Croix - Difficulty: green - Ascent: 300 m.
Tuesday 13h30-16h30: Les Forts de l'Esseillon
A not-to-be-missed outing if you want to discover the historical wonders of Aussois. With its mix of history and legend, this outing has all the makings of a great one. Rdv chalet de Sardières - difficulty: blue - ascent 38 0m positive.
Thursday 13h30-16h30: Meet the ibex
To meet these animals, which are fond of high rocky perches, you'll need to go up and look for them with binoculars and a spyglass. Departure and return to the ESF - difficulty: blue - ascent: 335 m positive.
Day
Wednesday 9.30am-4.30pm: The Chappe telegraph
Starting from the magnificent Sardières plateau, we'll set off in search of the Monolith, the great 93-metre-high "Menhir". During our outing, we'll enjoy the view from the Chappe Telegraph and the belvedere. Bring a picnic. Meeting point: Chalet de Sardières - Difficulty: green - Ascent: 560 m.
Friday 9.30am-4.30pm: Aussois dam
Head for the Plan d'Amont and Plan d'Aval, the two magnificent dams at Aussois. This hike offers incredible views of the Dent Parrachée. Full-day outing. Please bring a picnic lunch. Departure and return to the ESF - difficulty: blue - vertical drop: 600 m positive.
