Refuge Refuge de Sales Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval

Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval (74740)
Animals not allowed

Occupied by former alpine chalets, the Vallon de Sales is known for its access dotted with waterfalls, for the Dérochoir and its view of the Mont-Blanc massif and for the Platé Desert, geological curiosity.
Roland and Elisabeth Mogenier created the refuge out of love for the mountains and nature in 1981, they were the guardians of the place for 32 years. Their children continued their family activity with the same values of simplicity, authenticity and respect for nature, while adding a touch of modernity, fantasy and dynamism.

Only accessible on foot

football cages, stilts, sandbox

The ascent to the refuge is a family walk par excellence which does not present any particular difficulty. The route is varied and children will be delighted to discover the waterfalls, the fauna and flora present in abundance. (marmots whistle, drizzle from the waterfalls depending on the season, approach the ibexes...)

A children's library and numerous board games

Prices and menus adapted to children under 12 years old

Nice and exclusive idea: educational cards for the youngest to download and fill in during the climb to avoid the traditional "when are we coming"!
>> Card 5/8 years old
>> Sheet for 8/10 years old
Answers at the refuge with a little surprise for those who play the game.

Another idea: Possibility of hiring donkeys for one day or a circuit of several days. Guaranteed success with children and adults

And always :
the backpack "Discovering nature" lent by the refuge to go for a walk higher up and have fun (8-12 years old), don't hesitate to ask for it
our children's library, a multitude of board games and outdoor games: tree house, wheelbarrow, tricycle and trailer for group adventures, football cage and ball for teenagers, giant wooden games...
