OCC®: Orsières-Champex-Chamonix - The Swiss little sister

During the last week of August, trail runners from all around the world will be competing in one of the four main UTMB® events offering running distances of over 100 km. A race across the borders of the Mont Blanc Massif through France, Italy and Switzerland.

The "trail" effect is contagious and arouses new desires! All that was missing from this great week around Mont-Blanc was a race starting in Switzerland. On a shorter model, this race will be accessible to medium distance enthusiasts (in the Trail Ultra Medium (M) category between 42 km and 69 km). Thus the less "Ultra" who want to start and participate in the UTMB® will find a race, with a format that allows them to enter the event. Orsières will also live to the rhythm of a departure desired for several years. The UTMB® from Chamonix to Chamonix discovers the 3 countries, the CCC® which takes off from Italy goes to Switzerland at a hellish pace, the TDS® opens towards Beaufortain and the OCC tomorrow will do honor in Swiss Valais. The race will start from Orsières located in the south-west of the canton in the Val d'Entremont. This valley offers unique landscapes: last spurs and ultimate needles of the eastern flank of Mont-Blanc drawing the Franco-Swiss border, glaciers suspended on polished rocks, fiery torrents... The route of the OCC passes through the heart of this nature, in a particular and typical atmosphere before joining Champex and the last equally magical part of the UTMB® or CCC® course.
