Discover the history of this transalpine pass located at 2188 meters above sea level, exposed to severe weather (strong winds and snow), and a frequently traveled route for over three thousand years. Numerous remnants tell the story of those who crossed it: the cromlech or Hannibal's circle, the Roman road (connecting Rome to Vienne), the foundations of the mansio (a Roman waystation), the Joux column, the Chanousia garden (a botanical garden), and the hospice.
