The legendary “Critérium de la Première Neige” alpine skiing competition was first held in Val d’Isère in 1955. Come and experience first-hand the thrilling atmosphere of the Critérium over 2 weekends! The men’s events will take place on 9 and 10 December, and the women’s events on 16 and 17 December.
FRIDAY 8 DECEMBER
Official opening of the 68th Critérium
Val d’Isère will be celebrating its champions in the resort centre from 5.30pm. Come along to the special area reserved for pedestrians (Avenue Olympique), where we’ll introduce you to the competitors.
Programme:
• From 5.30pm: Street entertainment on Avenue Olympique, DJ Loran and cheerleaders “Pom Pom Girls des Alpes” (podium on Avenue Olympique)
• From 5.30pm to 6pm: Signature session with the Dynastar athletes.
• 6pm: Official opening of the 68th Critérium, with screening of Clément Noël’s film and mulled wine.
• 6.30pm: Public draw for start numbers (podium on Avenue Olympique).
The road between the two roundabouts on Avenue Olympique will be closed from 5.30pm to 7.30pm.
SATURDAY 9 DECEMBER
Giant Slalom
An unmissable event at the start of the season, the Alpine Skiing World Cup will be taking place on the legendary Bellevarde slope, for a weekend of madness!
- Fan zone: Thanks to the Critérium’s partners and the exhibitors in the finish area, a whole host of events are in store to keep everyone entertained, including a party stage with live pop/rock concerts, a DJ, a brass band, skis to try out, accessory brands on show and tasting sessions with some delicious Savoie specialities to sample.
Admission: €10/day
Opening hours: 8.30am to 3.30pm - Slope finish area (at the foot of the “Face de Bellevarde” slope)

• From 8.30am - Musical entertainment with “Funky Brass”
• 9am - “Frenchs Performeurs” walkabout - Fan zone
• 9.30am - Start of 1st heat
