The "mother goddess" cults widespread among the Amerindians were quickly identified by the various evangelizing orders, who saw in them the equivalent of the Catholic cult of the Virgin Mary.
In December 1531, Mary appeared to the Indian Juan Diego Cuauhtlaoatzin in the form of a young girl. She asked him to build a sanctuary in her honor on the Cerro de Tepeyac.
The ensemble Les Traversées Baroques already came to Valloire in 2022, closing the edition devoted to Florence with a memorable reconstitution of the Intermèdes de La Pellegrina. They return with a reduced number of musicians to adapt to the format of our Promenades musicales.
