Climbing - Bureau des Guides

The sessions last half a day for beginners and experienced climbers. You can choose a group formula or a private session. The Tarentaise valley has great locations where all the family can learn to climb for:

EQUIPMENT
We supply helmets and harnesses. You will be roped together and belayed.
You will need climbing shoes or trainers with a lugged sole, hiking trousers or shorts, a sweater or fleece jacket, a windbreaker and a picnic for day outings.

WHAT YOU LEARN
Beginners will essentially learn foot placement techniques, belaying, roping up and top roping. The goal is to gain confidence in yourself and the equipment.
Later on we will work on the gestures and abseiling, lead climbing and setting up belays.

FALSE NOTIONS
* It's a dangerous activity: you are roped together and attached to the rock with certified anchors while you are climbing. Every belayer has a reliable belay device.
* You need to be exceptionally fit: you can progress rapidly when you learn to climb and you can enjoy it from the first day.
* There are routes for all levels from beginner to experienced.
* It is an activity for adults only: children aged 5 and over can satisfy their need to climb trees and adults become children again… This is an activity for groups of friends or families
