Departure: Quais du Parquet or the Foirail car park.
Arrival: Nangy car park
Difficulty: easy
Time: 3 hrs (walking); 1 hr 30 (bike)
Period: all year round
Access:
In Bonneville, on the right bank, you can park your car at the Quais du Parquet car park or at the Foirail car park. There is another departure point at Contamine-sur-Arve: Le Pelloux car park, close to the Boug centre and the Cluniac site where the Sainte-Foy church is listed as a historical monument.
Description:
From the embankment in Bonneville, you take the new cycle path from the Pont de l'Europe as far as the new bridge downstream that crosses the Arve (a few meters away from the Foirail car park). Continue alongside the river Arve on a fairly wide path, from where you will see vegetable gardens.
Then continue along a metal track, with just a few sections which have been used by farm vehicles or recently flooded and which can become muddy.
The path follows the right bank of the Arve, accessible along the entire length and benefiting from an amazing natural setting.
Once you get to the edge of Bonneville and Contamine-sur-Arve, you can take a deviation in order to walk or cycle through the wet areas (ponds, reed beds, forest...) that border the Arve. Make sure you stay on the main path. You will then continue your walk/cycle in the direction of Nangy. Once you get to the barrier with a SM3A information panel showing the itinerary, you have reached the Nangy car park.
