Although the church is dedicated to St Pierre (St Peter), you will meet various other characters on the altarpieces and on the rood beam that separates the nave and choir: St Paul, John the Baptist and St Anthony, as well as several others who will give you a good idea of the expertise in wood carving in the Baroque period. But this is not the only expertise we can find here because, in Villard they made... lace! In the choir, in front of the altar you'll see a Villard lace cloth. At the time, all the young girls of the village, sometimes neglecting school work or work in the fields, were engaged in this more lucrative activity. Come and discover these works, the memories of an activity that has disappeared today...
