The ruins of a fortified Châtelet corresponds to a supposed medieval occupation.
Le Châtelet was the property of the noble family of the Châtelet Lacroix, perhaps from the early fifteenth century and the family of Fresney from the sixteenth to the eighteenth century.
This set of residential buildings and defensive structures, renovated during a campaign of excavations carried out by the county Department of Archaeology of the Haute-Savoie, is a little-known treasure in this sector. Located on the banks of the Bon Nant gorge, the Châtelet joins the group of other houses of the center of Saint Gervais, met as part of a trail « La boucle des Maisons fortes » (including The Countess, Tower Bongain, the base of the church tower and the strong House Hautetour).
