Nestled on a small plateau in the heart of a forest, with the Aiguilles d'Arves as a backdrop, the church was built in 1675 following a wish of the inhabitants during the plague of 1630. These renovations offer us original decorations: gypseries. A mixture of white gypsum stone and glue, they allow for a rich decoration that is less expensive and lighter than carved stone... And it's easy to see why!
Look up and admire the medallions that adorn the vault.
Discover also several 17th century altarpieces, restored by the artist Gilardi in 1855, whose columns are decorated with golden vine scrolls. They symbolically evoke the ascent of Christian souls to God... and are a delight to the eye!
