The patriots path

This trail connects the village of Petit Bornand Glières-val-de-Borne directly to the Plateau des Glières. It pays tribute to the inhabitants who gave their lives for the Maquis. Their sacrifice earned the commune the Croix de Guerre.

    1/ Go along the road in the direction of Les Lignières, once you cross the bridge turn left and go up the rural road. Cross the fields and continue in the direction of the hamlet of Lignieres. 2/ At the sign of Lignières, follow the road in the direction of the plateau of Glières and take the road of seasons. At the post "les meffins", take the steep path which enters the forest and reaches the place called "les Feuillits" (936m). 3/ Continue by the path which climbs in steep laces in the forest until the place called Outan. Once you reach Outan, go straight ahead to reach the chalet de Fréchet (viewpoint, farm, cheese production in summer). 4/ Continue in the direction of the Glières pass until the crossroads of the Mandrolière (restaurant, gîte Chez la Constance). 5/ Take on the left the direction of Chez la jode (Parking, restaurant, dry toilet, farm, cheese production in summer). At the map, take on the right the gravel road in direction of the Monument. 6/ Turn left and continue towards the monument. 7/ The return is done by the same route.
