Sport Montaimont Pralognan-la-Vanoise

Departing from Pralognan-la-Vanoise (73710)
Average length : 02h00
Signed walking trail
Animals allowed

From the Pont de la Pêche parking lot, head left on the path/farm road that leads to Montaimont.
After passing through the alder grove, the trail reaches Montaimont Plateau, with its chalets scattered here and there that bear witness to the area’s ancestral farming traditions.
Before electric fencing appeared, the large buildings in Montaimont served to milk the livestock in a sheltered location in the event of a storm or if there were too many flies in the pastures.
At the far end of the buildings, hike down the Doron de Chavière River gorge, a fantastic section of trail. Cross over the footbridge, hike up the opposite side and head towards the Roc de la Pêche Hut where you can grab a bite to eat.
With a spoonful of discretion and a keen sense of observation, you might be able to observe the marmots that live in Montaimont and on La Motte Plateau.
After the hut, on your right, follow the path/farm road (trail no. 49) that takes you downhill to the parking lot.

Ritort Pastures (1971m)
Trail no. 49b
From the Roc de la Pêche Hut, completely integrated into the surrounding landscapes, follow the path/farm road all the way to the chalets in Ritort.
Take the same trail back the way you came.
