Be careful with some slightly dizzying passages where the path is narrow for sensitive people. The majority of the route takes place in the forest, protecting you from the heat.
The first 500 meters are made on the road to a bridge spanning a torrent. The path to take is located just before the bridge on the right and runs along this torrent. This climb gives a splendid view to Mont Blanc when the weather permits! In addition, it crosses a wetland in which it is possible to observe - but not to gather! - various plants such as orchids or carnivorous plants (for example the common grouse or the alpine grouse).
A small passage between the trees leads to the road to be taken for about 200 meters, before entering the forest definitively (1500m). The climb itself is over!
The crossing of the forest is carried out on a small path in the shade and where it is possible to cross squirrels or roe deer and deer. The indications are simple and there is no particularly technical passage. Only one or two portions have a fairly steep slope at the edge of the trail that can make people prone to dizziness uncomfortable.
After 2km, the descent increases until you reach La Thuile (1190m), a small hamlet in which there are several fountains.
After leaving the hamlet, you cross the road to take an agricultural path which brings you right next to the parking lot of the cable car (1270m).
