Saint-Disdille is tucked away between the Château de Ripaille’s wooded parkland and the Dranse nature reserve, just a stone’s throw from Lake Geneva. As well as providing a wide range of services, the campsite organises a packed programme of events to ensure a highly festive atmosphere throughout the season. Thonon-les-Bains is a “Station Nautique” resort, with all that implies in terms of the diversity and quality of the sports and activities available on and beside the lake.
We love: The superb location between the lake and the mountains of the Chablais.
Don’t miss: A visit to the Château de Ripaille, which produces excellent wine.
L’Ile aux Cygnes: Le Bourget-du-Lac: 3 stars – Romantic Lake Bourget – a touch of the wild.
As well as boasting its own private beach and harbour, this lakeshore campsite gives access to a vast range of sports and leisure activities. It is also ideally situated for visiting the historic cities of Aix-les-Bains and Chambéry, just a few kilometres away. Dining on freshly caught lake fish on the terrace of one of the many bars and restaurants that dot the lakeshore, three of which have Michelin stars, is an unforgettable experience.
We love: Cycling along the lakeside greenway to the harbour at Aix-les-Bains and then following the ornithology trail.

Camping Europa: Saint-Jorioz: 4 stars – Sparkling Lake Annecy – eminently pure.
Camping Europa offers top-class facilities in an exceptional location, just 400 m from the lake, beside the cycleway and at the foot of the Bauges Regional Park. Le Sougey: St-Alban-de-Montbel: 4 stars–Undiscovered Lake Aiguebelette – the emerald jewel.
Le Sougey provides direct access to the beautiful shores of Lake Aiguebelette. Widely considered the warmest lake in Savoie Mont Blanc (up to 28°C), it is ideal for swimming and water sports (canoeing, paddleboarding, etc.). The beautiful scenery is an invitation to explore the surrounding countryside and discover the tasty delights on offer at the area’s village markets.
We love: The absence of polluting motorboats on the lake.
Don’t miss: A leisurely drink on the beautiful terrace at Lake Aiguebelette Visitor Centre.
