The Old Rhone is a river of 2nd category. During summer its water is often high and muddy, it is better to fish in autumn or winter so that you can fish in clear water.

Be aware, waders are highly recommended. Moreover, pebbles are very slippery and the rate of flow is shifting because of the dam (water can suddenly go up).
