Further informations

Ground

1. From the Maison de Tignes, follow the cycle path towards the Pointe du Lavachet and its avalanche barriers.
2. After reaching the top of the Lavachet ski lift, take a moment to spot the natural arch of the Aiguille Percée in the distance. You are now ready to follow the GR5 trail via the Pas de la Tovière: turn right to go up the dam that protects the buildings from avalanches.
3. After a series of hairpin bends, you will reach the Pas de Tovière, offering a spectacular view of the Lac du Chevril, the eponymous dam, as well as Mont Blanc. The remains of the old village of Tignes still lie at the bottom of the water.
4. Along the way, you will pass the small altiport hut, with the Roc de la Tovière visible in the distance. Use the path that gradually approaches and then moves away from the rock, leaving the GR, before entering the Vallée Perdue.
5. Follow the path that crosses the gorges, running alongside and crossing the Tovière stream several times using footbridges. Admire the pinnacles that rise above you, they are made of Cargneule, the same rock that formed the Aiguille Percée and its ruiniform reliefs.
6. Continue your descent to La Daille. Once the Isère is in sight, you just have to go up the river on its left bank to a footbridge that will take you directly to the bus station.

Return:
