One of the most difficult trails of the Salève by its duration, its elevation and including aerial passages. It is aimed at experienced hikers. Follow in the footsteps of Horace Bénédict De Saussure, a scientist and mountaineer from Geneva who discovered the Grotto, named after his guide: François Orjobet.
The Grotto is lit by natural openings and was entirely fitted out in 1905 by the Genevoise section of the Swiss Alpine Club with steps and cables to be able to cross it easily.
After crossing the cave, you will pass through the Crêts mountain pastures and their panoramic views of the Genevoise plain on one side and the Mont Blanc on the other.
During your descent you will also pass near the Trou de la Tine which is a kind of chasm whose bottom can be reached by a wide gap.

This themed path allows you, with the aid of consoles, to discover the geology of Salève and its curiosities: The Grotte d'Orjobet, the Trou de la Tine, the arches of La Corraterie, the Grès des Rochers de Faverges and a 360° view of Geneva and Mont Blanc.

0/ Parking Le Coin
1/ From Le Coin car park, take the direction of «La Corraterie par Grotte d'Orjobet».
2/ At the directional post «Trou de la Tine» continue towards «Le Coin par Grande Gorge».
3/ A «La Corraterie» always continue towards «Le Coin par Grande Gorge», you will pass through the following directional posts: «Le Grand Palavet», «Sur le Charrot», «Sur La Grande Gorge», «Sous Grande Gorge», «Le Perouzet» and «Les Varappes» before finding the Le Coin car park and your starting point.
Before heading towards La Corraterie, take the path on your right which will lead you to the Auberge des Crêts for a gourmet break. Approx. 20 minutes on foot.

Access to the parking lot of Tennis in Collonges sous Salève is closed and prohibited from 20/05/21 and until further notice (Prefectural order of 20/05/21 NA-2021-054).
Dogs must be kept on a leash due to the presence of herds.
