Access: Leaving from the Peray parking lot
Head for Tête Noire, a 1h30 trail through the forest, with a fairly steep gradient.
Once at Tête Noire, head for Chalets de Bénés (approx. 30 mins).
Continue on to Tête du Planet and Cabane du Petit Pâtre (30 min between each point).
The Chalet du Petit Pâtre, as its name suggests, is both a shelter for the shepherd and for hikers passing through; the view of the Mont-Blanc range is exceptional. The return journey can be made in a loop, and you can head back down towards Le Chanté, then return to Le Peray to complete the loop.
VARIATION: the loop can be completed in the opposite direction, starting from Le Peray and heading towards Les Sions, then Le Chanté. Once at Le Chanté, climb towards Les Seythets, Cabane du Petit Pâtre (more difficult climb).
