You get to the start via a track of about 1 km, then find yourself on a singletrack path which is steep in places. The end part is more fun, so you can let go of the brakes a bit and enjoy yourself!
Why the name? The area used to be dotted with small fir trees ("sapinettes"), but that was before the 2017 avalanche. Pity...

Park in the car park at the La Norma leisure centre and then take the ski lifts.
In 2022, work on the Mélézet cable car, take the Repose chairlift. After the arrival of the Repose chairlift, there is a gantry on the left.
