PERMANENT EXHIBITION
Since 1977, the Musée Montagnard has been housed in one of the oldest houses in the center of Les Houches. Through thematic rooms and three reconstructed rooms of the traditional habitat, it presents a collection of objects used in the past in the Chamonix valley for agropastoral tasks and daily life. Two rooms house the temporary exhibition, which is renewed every year.

TEMPORARY EXHIBITION
From July 1, 2023 to September 22, 2024: ART WORKS IN LES HOUCHES, 1860-2023
In Les Houches, three types of civil engineering structures were built throughout the commune:

- tunnels, bridges, including the emblematic Sainte-Marie viaduct, to facilitate access to the valley
the valley by rail or road
- avalanche barriers and other devices to protect against natural disasters
- hydroelectric dams and other renewable energy suppliers

The temporary exhibition presented at the Musée Montagnard in partnership with the Dans l'temps association retraces the history and current status of these engineering structures, which are landmarks of the region.
