Saint-Nicolas Church

The parish of Le Lyaud was separated from that of Armoy in 1844, and a new church was built between 1859 and 1861.
The church, with its basilica floor plan and polygonal chevet, is built on a hill overlooking the plain.

About

Lyaud (74200)

The large building is surrounded by a pleasant garden, where the town's war memorial stands. The façade is simple, almost austere.
The building was constructed on the foundations of a former chapel dedicated to Saint Blaise.
Remains of the chapel and a three-lobed window are still visible inside the church. The church's choir houses an organ, installed in the early 1990s at the same time as the restoration work.
