The first census of the estate dates back to the 19th century when it belonged to the Mont de Jupiter family (where the name Montjoux comes from) and was agricultural land. There was a farmhouse where the manor house, Château de Montjoux, now stands (habitable area: over 2,000m²).
The estate focused on orchards and vineyards.
There are all sorts of exotic trees (cedar, thuja, douglas fir, pine, laurel etc.) which adapted to or disappeared from the environment as well as some native species (oak, lime, beech, yew etc.).
There is a landscaped garden with several cone-shaped bushes and views of Lake Geneva that was designed in the 20th century.
The original undergrowth in the north east area is also ornamental and landscaped with mostly yew and laurel trees.
The entire park is listed as a protected natural area by the Plan Local d’Urbanisme which means that pre-existing and existing wooded areas have been listed to ensure their protection.
