Historical and gourmet discovery day at VTTAE

The day starts from 9:00 am to 9:30 am with the handling of your mountain bike or VTTAE (Electric Assistance Mountain Bike) and the discovery of Bonneval sur Arc, a village classified among the "Most beautiful villages in France" to discover freely before you start. at a good pace on the Chemin du Petit Bonheur (GR5E).

Your road book in hand will allow you to visit the must-see sites at your own pace. You will then take the cycling route which will take you to Bessans with the Rocher du Château on your route (rock engravings, serpentine)

Meet at 11:30 am in Bessans to meet the "Chapoteur" at his wood carving workshop where you will be told the legend of the devil of Bessans.

Around 12:00 p.m. - 12:30 p.m.: a delicious lunch with local flavors awaits you at the Chalet de Séraphin restaurant

Meeting at 2:00 p.m. on the village square for a sensory visit with the mediation of a guide from the Pays d'Art et d'Histoire des Hautes-Vallées de Savoie (Facim Foundation) of the church (statuary) and the chapel of St Antoine (medieval frescoes) to open the way to the Baroque.

You will then reach the refuge of Avérole with on your way the discovery via your road book of the chapel Ste Anne in La Goulaz and the hamlet Les Vincendières. The bikes will then be parked at the foot of the Avérole refuge climb (bike rack) for a final climb on foot (20min) and a snack at the refuge (2210m). The refuge at the bottom of the valley, at the confluence of 2 torrents, will give you a breathtaking view of the glaciers.

Around 5:30 p.m.: it's time to go back to Bonneval sur Arc (if the electric bikes are returned, the store closes at 7:00 p.m.)

Level: Easy. Distance to cover: 33km. Bonneval: 1850m => Bessans 1750m => Refuge Avérole 2210m => Bonneval sur Arc.
