Voie romaine et banc des amoureux

From the Château, continue straight on to the end of the tarred road. Continue on the "Chemin des Ruffines" which extends it towards Barby via the old Roman Road, then continue straight on to a signpost on the left marked "Barby par chemin des amoureux".
Descend and walk alongside the field, the trail continues on the right. After the descent you come to a small platform where you find a stone bench, a meeting place for lovers according to the legend. Enter Barby and go right as far as the turning area for vehicles, then enter the Parc de Malatray (park with a botanical trail) via the little gate and cross it. Continue on the pavement to the front of the church. Take the "Route du Château" to the right, at the bend near the statue of the Virgin, then continue straight on via the "Chemin des Chavonnes". When you arrive on the Roman Road (alt. 400 m) turn right to return in the direction of Challes-les-eaux.
Variant: the "Chemin des Amoureux" starting at Barby.
From the "Place de l'Église", traverse the Parc de Malatray and leave by the little gate. After the roundabout take the "Chemin des Amoureux" to the left. Continue via the "Chemin des Chavonnes" to reach the Roman Road, continue to the "Route de Château" and redescend to Barby.
