From the top car park in Belle Plagne, take the road that goes to the right of the alpine chalets. After walking 300 metres, take the path on your right going up to the Inversens tunnel. Go through the tunnel and when you come out continue on up to Roche de Mio (2,739m). At Roche de Mio, you will have a beautiful panoramic view of the Alps (orientation table behind the gondola station).
On the way down, take the road on the left, that passes under the Roche de Mio gondola. This will take you to Lac des Blanchets (reservoir for La Plagne's drinking water). You may see ibex at Roche Fendue. Then go on down to the Col de Forcle and Belle Plagne.
Every summer, on the last weekend of July, the 6000D trail running race takes the competitors up to the glacier. Over 1,500 participants leave Aime in the valley to run up to the glacier and then back down via le Dérochoir, Plagne Bellecôte and Montchavin les Coches.
