In La Chapelle d'Abondance, at "La Sauge" hamlet , take the small road going (down next to the big farm). Park just before the little bridge .
Take the path (GR 5) going up on the left in the forest. After the waterfall , continue until "Sur Bayard Chalet". The view on the ski "Braitaz" area, Chatel and the Morclansummit is beautiful. Return by the same path.
In winter, a snowshoe route is also available.

Hike: Sur Bayard par la Cascade
The Abondance valley has few waterfalls.
Thanks to snowmelt, Bayard waterfall is abundant in spring, and also in autumn, during the rainy period.

In the Abondance valley, you will find 3 types of markings: • local markup on wooden panel, • the departmental markings called P.D.I.P.R. (Departmental Plan of Promenade Routes and Hiking) on beige metal panel and green writing, • the FFRP markup (French Federation of Hiking), red and white mark for GR® (Grande Randonnée), red and yellow mark for RP® (Randonnée de Pays).
