Take Chemin de la Vigne, which crosses the Arve river, and head upwards through the grove adjacent to the Ravin des Vouillouds. The path meets the trail that comes from Les Gaillands.
Alternatively, you can start at the Les Montquarts footbridge, which takes you to the path of Les Epinettes.

This trail goes through the Chamonix valley, taking you to the Merlet Animal Park from Les Bossons. All along, there are wonderful views over the Valley and the Mont Blanc Massif.
