Start from the carpark at LE PLAN. Go in the direction of ALPAGE DE RAMADIEU passing via La Crépinière. Once you arrive at the ALPAGE DE RAMADIEU, take the direction COL DU JAILLET via Le Char and La Tourbière du Jaillet. From the COL DU JAILLET, return to LE PLAN via Le Planet, Les Iles, Pont du Moulin and La Crépinière.
TO SEE :
- Panoramic view of Mont-Blanc : from "La Tête du Torraz", there is a stunning view of the Mont-Blanc mountain chain that is simply memorable.
- La Borne Romaine : since this route takes you over the Col du Jaillet, check out one of the only remaining traces of the Romans! Indeed, you will find an ancient roman milestone at the Col (dating from between 125 and 14 BC), which was discovered in 1963. This milestone, inscribed with the word "FINES" (Latin for border), obviously represented the border between the Viennese city (Allobroges) and the Alpes Grées (Ceutrons). You will also find similar milestones at Le Petit Croisse-Baulet and the Col de l'Avenaz.
INTERESTING FACT :
Much later on, this roman milestone was used to determine the limits of the "Pététruy" grazing area, which was claimed by both neighbouring villages of La Giettaz and Cordon.
