From October 2 to May 18, 2024, the refuge is unguarded in winter, but a part is open unguarded (15 beds, 3 blankets per bed, tables, benches, no heating or electricity). Reservations recommended to ensure room availability.

Possible access by path: The path of the foot of the crêt (the easiest): 2h15 - 740m of drop - The path of Crêt (more aerial): 2h00 - 560m of drop. Also accessible with a bat donkey, mountain bike, snowshoes, ski touring, all-terrain wheelchair and joëlette.
