Refreshments and snacks in the village hall.
Summary:
Popular poetry had its heyday in the Belle Epoque, on the Butte Montmartre. Some of its venues became famous, including the Chat Noir. Its cafés/concert halls, cabarets, caboulots and beuglants were the places to go
for poets and singers of all kinds, often broke, rarely of higher status. Some, like Bruant,
or Rictus. Others recounted moments in their dialect, often peasant, sometimes proletarian, rarely working-class.
